The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, during which delegates will elect new national officers and deliberate on other key party matters.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 8, the party said the date was approved by the National Council following a recommendation by the National Executive Committee (NEC) at its meeting held on June 25, 2026.

According to the NPP, the conference will be held in accordance with Article 10(1) of the party’s Constitution, which mandates delegates to elect the party’s national officers.

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fixed Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, at which delegates will, among other matters, elect National Officers of the Party pursuant to Article 10(1) of the Party Constitution,” the statement said.

As part of preparations for the conference, the party has invited members and stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to its Constitution.

The NPP said all amendment proposals should be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party’s national headquarters or sent via email to nppconstitutionalamendment@gmail.com no later than Friday, July 17, 2026.

It explained that the call for constitutional amendment proposals is in line with Article 19(2) of the party’s Constitution.

The party urged members and stakeholders to actively participate in the constitutional review process, describing it as an important opportunity to strengthen the NPP’s structures, deepen internal democracy and improve the party’s governance.

The NPP reaffirmed its commitment to constitutionalism, the rule of law and democratic principles as it prepares for the National Delegates Conference in September.
