The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that balloting for its presidential primary will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the party’s national headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra.
The exercise will determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot for the January 31, 2026 presidential primary.
In a letter signed by William Yamoah, Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, the party invited all qualified aspirants to attend the session and confirm their participation.
“The Committee congratulates all aspirants for successfully completing the vetting process and wishes them the best as the party moves toward the next phase of the internal contest,” the letter stated.
Those copied in the correspondence include the General Secretary, Acting National Chairman, and the Chairman of the Presidential Elections Committee.
According to the distribution list, five aspirants will take part in the draw:

The upcoming balloting represents a crucial milestone in the NPP’s roadmap toward electing a flagbearer to lead the party into the 2026 general elections.
Party officials say the process will be conducted transparently, in line with the NPP’s constitution and electoral guidelines, to ensure fairness and confidence among all stakeholders.
