As part of the ruling New Patriotic Party to elect a new parliamentary candidate for their party ahead of the 2024 elections, former Ashanti Regional Communications Officer Mr. Dennis Kwakwa has made his intentions clear and emphatic of contesting for the Mampong Constituency.
According to the former communications officer, his ambition to contest his sitting MP, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum, is of good thoughts and to help the ruling party break the eight.
Mr. Dennis Kwakwa, speaking on the Oyerepa Breakfast show hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, indicated that the grassroots are the people calling and appealing to him to contest as the parliamentary candidate for Mampong constituency.
“Even my own constituents whom I mobilized to support my MP are the same people today calling me to come and save the constituency,” he said.
Adding to that, for the NPP to break the eight, there needs to be a strong force in the various constituencies to help battle for the challenge ahead in 2024, hence the need for him to contest as the next parliamentary candidate.
“The most important thing is for us as the NPP to break the eight in the 2024 elections… I have a very good relationship with my MP, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum, at Mampong, but I think it is time I come in to save this constituency before things turn around,” he stated.
