The Agona West Constituency, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Organizer, Sam Toys has inflicted machete wound on a member of the NDC over who to join a queue during the limited voters registration.
The NPP Organizer on Sunday September 17, 2023, is said to have booked a place in the queue for his party member and later left, but unknown to him, that place had already been occupied by some NDC members.
Upon his return to the registration center, the NPP organizer sacked the NDC members from the place, but the act didn’t go down well with the NDC and turned into chaos.
In the ensuing melee, the suspect NPP organizer quickly rushed to his pickup vehicle and picked a sharpened cutlass and hit the head of the NDC member who refused to leave that spot in the queue.
The victim who was left in a pool of blood was rushed to the hospital where he’s receiving treatment, while the matter has been reported to the police for investigation.
No arrest has been made so far.
Meanwhile, the Deputy NDC constituency organizer, Samuel Ametepey, who witnessed the incident, expressed disappointment and blamed the EC for the chaos.
He served notice that the NDC will face the NPP boot for boot till the end of the limited registration as they will not allow the NPP to cow them into submission.
Samuel Ametepey said the NDC will do all they can do to protect themselves since the security personnel at the registration center are not willing to protect them.
