National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay, popularly called Freddie Blay has debunked claims that he isn’t contesting the position due to his poor performance.
Many NPP supporters have chastised Blay after he uncovered that, he is stepping down for new faces to contest his position (NPP National Chairman). They believe that Freddie Blay is running away from the position because he has failed to live up to expectations.
On the other hand, the outgoing National Chairman has declared that he is not leaving the position because he underperformed.
Speaking in an interview with Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Freddie Blay disclosed that, he not contesting the post because of poor performance however he is stepping down for new faces and fresh ideas to take over in other for the NPP to break the eight.
“I’m not contesting the chairmanship position because I did not perform … There should be new names, faces and ideas to help the party break the eight.” He told, Kwesi Parker-Wilson, host of the show.
The NPP will be holding its National Annual Delegates’ Conference at the Accra Sports Stadium from July 15 to July 17, 2022, to elect its national executives.
