The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost the 2024 general election because they presented the wrong candidate, Dr. Kenneth Klutse, author and policy director for Team Ken at USA, has warned delegates.
According to Dr. Klutse, the party’s decision to choose Dr. Bawumia over Kennedy Agyapong was a mistake, as many party members and young people preferred Agyapong, who embodies the values of Patriotism, Honesty, and Discipline (PHD).
Dr. Klutse made this statement during the launch of his book, “PHD Politics,” inspired by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s “PHD” doctrine at Alisa Hotel in Accra.
He emphasized that the party’s failure to choose Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as their candidate led to low voter turnout, particularly among young people who deliberately refused to vote.
To him, the NDC won the 2024 election because NPP members didn’t vote due to the party’s wrong candidate choice. Instead of choosing Ken Agyapong, the party opted for another candidate, which led to the loss.
Dr. Kenneth Klutse, a private contractor for the USA government and author of “PHD Politics,” is humbly urging NPP delegates to listen to party members and consider bringing Kennedy Agyapong forward as their candidate if they want to win the 2028 election.
He believes the party should take the preferences of its members seriously, particularly with Agyapong’s popularity among young people and his embodiment of the PHD values – Patriotism, Honesty, and Discipline.
