Deputy Defence Minister, ESQ Kofi Amankwa Manu, has vehemently denied allegations that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is covertly recruiting security personnel to bolster its chances in the upcoming December elections.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Manu dismissed the claims as baseless and impossible.
“We’re not doing secret recruitment. That’s not even possible…. It’s a lie.” The minister emphasized.
Manu’s statement comes amidst widespread speculation that the NPP is surreptitiously recruiting party loyalists into the police service and military.
Critics have raised concerns that such a move would compromise the integrity and impartiality of the security forces, potentially tilting the electoral scales in favour of the ruling party.
