The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reacted strongly to allegations made by Member of Parliament Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) that Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine attempted to bribe the Appointments Committee of Parliament with GH₵500,000.
NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye called on Dr. Ayine to take A-Plus to court to clear his name if the allegations are untrue. Emphasized that Dr. Ayine should sue A-Plus for thievery allegations if he believes they are false.”
The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, In a statement released on his official Facebook page, admitted authorship of a strongly worded post in which he accused Dr Ayine of attempting to bribe the Appointments Committee of Parliament with GH₵500,000.
NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye criticized Attorney General Dr. Ayine for not taking decisive action after A-Plus’s bribery allegations. He questioned why Dr. Ayine would suggest investigating A-Plus’s knowledge of the NSS scandal instead of using his prosecutorial powers to address the allegations.
“An MP accuses you of being a thief and corrupt, alleging you have taken GH₵500,000, and all you can say is that you can handle the situation. Instead of taking action, you are inviting us to investigate A-Plus over the NSS scandal.”
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is calling on President John Dramani Mahama to take immediate action and investigate the bribery allegations leveled against Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine.
