The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged the National Election Security Task Force (NESTF) to provide adequate security for Electoral Commission (EC) officials at re-collation centers.
The party’s General Secretary, Justin Koduah Frimpong, emphasized that the Inspector General of Police, chairman of NESTF, has promised maximum protection at all polling and collation centers.
The NPP’s demand comes amid tensions surrounding the collation of results in four outstanding constituencies. Koduah Frimpong accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its supporters of disrupting the electoral process at the police detective academy in Teseno.
To ensure peaceful collation, the NPP has vowed to use legal means to protect EC officials. Koduah Frimpong’s statement reflects the party’s commitment to safeguarding the democratic process.
