As tongues wag over news of Fella Makafui and Medikal’s failed marriage, the rapper has said they never had sex for almost a year while they lived in separate rooms in the same house.
A tweep, in his analysis, claimed that the brouhaha about the marriage might not be as it seems considering that they still live under the same roof.
“Medikal and Fella still live in the same house. They want to stay together and co-parent, but they are separated. This isn’t America; they will still have intimate moments. In the video, Fella is wearing a nightgown, meaning they are staying in the same house, but someone said Fella left—laughable,” the tweet, which was in Pidgin, read.
In response, Medikal refuted the suggestion that he had been making love to Fella Makafui despite the turmoil.
“It’s been almost a year, we never nack [never had sex], we live in separate rooms. I have a nanny who takes care of my daughter! I wouldn’t have been this informative but since she involved the public and called the cops on me rather than solving it at home amicably, it’s best y’all be in the know,” Medikal stated.
Meanwhile, Fella Makafui has released a statement confirming the collapse of their four-year-old marriage. Dated May 18, 2024, the statement, signed by Fella Makafui, said the decision was taken “a few months ago” and they had been waiting for their families “to complete the required customary divorce rites.”
She also responded to some claims Medikal had made on social media, highlighting how the said claims have injured her reputation.
“These public statements, considerable parts of which are a great departure from the truth, have caused significant hurt to me, my family, and to my business,” she said.
Regardless, Fella Makafui stated she would refrain from addressing the claims in public. Instead, she has “decided to resort to only lawful and appropriate forums to address my grievances,” citing her deep respect for their two families, for the relative privacy that the institution of marriage requires, and most importantly, in the best interest of their beloved daughter.
On the way forward, the actress said she had decided to go the legal route, although she was reluctant. She expressed confidence that the legal process would be beneficial.
She said she was sure it would “ensure that my daughter and I are safe and, also, that my and my husband’s co-parenting duties are properly and sufficiently streamlined and regulated in accordance with the law.”
Fella and Medikal got married on March 7, 2020. However, on March 31, 2024, Medikal tweeted saying, “Fella is no more my wife, she is my baby mother, we are co-parenting and it’s all good.” This was after a tweep had tweeted at Medikal and Fella as husband and wife.
