The Ministry of the Interior has refuted claims circulating on social media that certain individuals, including pastors, have been granted special exemptions from security checks.
“The Ministry of the Interior is compelled to address a disturbing trend of misinformation circulating on social media, suggesting that certain individuals, including pastors, have been granted special privileges to bypass security checks. The Ministry wishes to state categorically that these claims are baseless, entirely false, and should be disregarded immediately,” the statement read.
The Ministry made it clear that no such directives or protocols exist, stressing that security measures apply equally to all citizens. “It is important to note that the Ministry of the Interior has not issued any directives or protocols allowing specific groups or individuals to circumvent security checks.”
Emphasizing its commitment to national security, the Ministry warned against the misuse of its name in spreading falsehoods. “We, therefore, caution the public against using the Ministry’s name to perpetrate crime or spread false information, which undermines national security.” It called on citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
In an appeal to social media users, the Ministry urged the public to verify information from official sources before sharing. “The Ministry is appealing to social media users and the general public to verify information through official channels before sharing to prevent the spread of misinformation.”
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, the Ministry assured the public that it would continue to provide accurate updates on its operations and policies. “The Ministry strongly believes that by working together, we can ensure a safer and more informed community.”
