Lawyer Angelina Awa, the Ashanti Regional Head/Registrar – Land Registration Division of the Lands Commission has asked all people and cooperate bodies in Ghana to do appropriate diligence before the procurement of any land for projects since it is a wrongdoing to utilize land-guards for security.
The Lawyer’s remark is according to a few cases in the nation where a few people were accounted for to have recruited land-watchmen to shield their territories from gatecrashers.
However, Lawyer Angelina Awa, says the new land act restricts land-monitors from ensuring a property.
According to her, before the procurement of any land, it is crucial for all people and co-operate bodies (purchasers) to beseech due diligence to realize that, the merchant is a legitimate owner, and furthermore has the necessary documentation.

Attorney Angelina Awa made this known to Oyerepafmonline.com in a meeting at a one-day course, coordinated last Saturday by the Church of Pentecost [COP] New Tafo Area Estate Department at the COP – Ebenezer Assembly (F-line) sanctuary. A seminar aimed at sensitising the Church’s Ministers, District Estate Committees, Presiding Elders, and Local Building Committees on the new laws governing the acquisition of land and its documentation in the country.
