The Bisland Charity Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has generously donated GHC5, 000 to the Apagya Anglican Basic School in the Afigya Kwabere South District of the Ashanti Region.
This donation is part of the NGO’s efforts to support the promotion of arts and culture in the school.
During the commissioning of a borehole established at Amoah-Apagya by the Bisland Charity Foundation, Mr. James Donkor Jr., CEO of the foundation, emphasized the significant role that arts and culture play in the education of all pupils.
He also highlighted how arts and culture contribute to tourism, which in turn enhances overall development.
“We are presenting a cheque of GHC5,000 to Apagya Anglican Basic School to promote arts and culture because the country’s development greatly depends on tourism,” Mr. Donkor stated.
In addition to the monetary donation, the Bisland Charity Foundation also provided books, desktop computers, and football jerseys to facilitate teaching and learning activities at the school.
Receiving the cheque and other items, the headmistress of the school, Eugenia Konadu Bonsu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Bisland Charity Foundation for the immense support.
She said the items will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning activities in the Apagya Anglican Basic School.
However, Nana Owusu Peprah II, the chief of Apagya also appealed to the authorities of the Afigya Kwabere South District to prioritize the improvement of the road that connects Kodie, Apagya, and nearby communities.
He urged them to set aside political differences and focus on addressing this crucial issue.
