The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to arrest and prosecute individuals involved in the expired rice expose’ when they assume power.
This was disclosed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, on Oyerepa Breakfast Time.
According to Ablakwa, the NDC government will ensure that those responsible for re-bagging and distributing expired and contaminated rice to Senior High Schools (SHS) are held accountable.
He alleged that over 22,000 bags of expired Moshosho rice imported from India were deceptively repackaged as ECOWAS Made-in-Ghana rice and fed to millions of SHS students starting in February this year.
He emphasized that should the NPP government, under the leadership of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, fail to take action against the Food and Drugs Board Boss, Delese Mimi Darko, for her involvement in the re-bagging of expired rice, the NDC government, if elected, will ensure that all individuals implicated in this scandal are apprehended and brought to justice.
Ablakwa however, emphasized the need for Ghanaians to vote for the NDC in the upcoming December elections to “fix Ghana.”
He urged the electorate to entrust the NDC with the mandate to restore transparency, accountability, and good governance in the country.
