Member of Parliament for Adaklu constituency in the Volta Region, Mr. Kwame Governs Agbodza has called on the Driver and Vehicle Authority not to use their outfit to extort unapproved monies from Ghanaians.
He is of the view that DVLA’s decision to issue a new driving license to Ghanaians needs to be re-addressed because is not in accordance with the Charges Act.
According to him, if the regulator (DVLA) wants to introduce a new product there is a need for the Driver and Vehicle Authority to have proper engagement with stakeholders before taking any major decision such as the issuance of a new driver’s license.
Mr Kwame Governs Agbodza added that authorities at DVLA should know that they are not running a private entity and that consultations with Ghanaians will be in the best interests of both DVLA and Ghanaians.
