The National Election Security Task Force (NESTF) led by Dr. George Akufo Dampare, Inspector General of Police IGP and Chairman of NESTF, met with the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) to provide assurances on the task force’s preparedness.

Dr. Dampare emphasized that the NESTF has put in place comprehensive measures to prevent any potential security threats, ensuring a violence-free election. He encouraged the business community to focus on their investments and future projections, confident that the task force has everything under control.

This meeting is part of a broader engagement strategy by NESTF to interact with various stakeholders, including religious leaders, traditional authorities, and civil society organizations. The task force aims to ensure a secure electoral process and maintain the peace and stability that Ghana is known for.

“We are committed to protecting the democratic process and ensuring a peaceful transfer of power. We urge the business community to have confidence in our abilities and continue to invest in Ghana’s future,”
Dr. Dampare said.

Dr. Humphery Ayim-Darke, President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), commended the Elections Security Task Force for its preparedness ahead of the upcoming elections. He pledged the association’s unwavering support to ensure Ghanaians continue to enjoy peace and stability.

Dr. Ayim-Darke urged AGI members to report any suspicious activities by individuals or groups to the task force via a toll-free number. This collaborative effort aims to prevent any potential disruptions to the electoral process.

As the President of AGI, Dr. Ayim-Darke has been a strong advocate for policies that promote industrial growth and development in Ghana. His commitment to supporting the Elections Security Task Force demonstrates the association’s dedication to ensuring a peaceful and stable environment for businesses to thrive.

On his part, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, Director of Training at the Electoral Commission, assured Ghanaians that the commission will do everything in its power to ensure the upcoming elections are free, credible, and fair.

Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, called on citizens to support the commission and encouraged all registered voters to exercise their right to vote.
