National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has launched an ambitious program to equip 100,000 youth with skills training through the “Skills for Jobs Project”.
This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Finance, aims to create 120 jobs across various sectors, including phone repairs, cosmetics, bread making, jewelry, pedicure and manicure, decor, makeup artistry, key cutting, and CCTV installation.
Dr. Stephen Amoah, Deputy Minister of Finance, emphasized that in today’s challenging job market, developing skills is crucial for success. He urged the youth to take the Skills for Jobs Project seriously, as it provides a golden opportunity to acquire skills that can secure their future.
Dr. Amoah also highlighted that in advanced countries, individuals with skills often earn more than those with corporate jobs. He encouraged the youth to commit to acquiring skills, warning that letting this opportunity slip away would leave them with no one to blame but themselves.
Mr Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, Chief Executive Officer of NEIP praises Nana Addo and Bawumia’s administration for prioritizing youth entrepreneurship, citing it as key to unlocking youth potential, job creation, and economic growth.
Since 2017, NEIP has empowered nearly 2 million Ghanaian youth through skills training. Ofosu Nkansah vows to continue nurturing the ‘can-do spirit’ among Ghana’s youth, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.”
