Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B and the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is orchestrating efforts to petition the President for the removal of the Electoral Commission Chairperson.
According to Nana B, the government plans to target the Electoral Commission once it successfully removes the Chief Justice.
He made these claims in a post shared on social media, stating, “CJ’s Suspension: The NDC has prepared people to come out with petitions for the removal of the Electoral commissioner if they succeed in removing the chief justice.”
Meanwhile, some political parties have announced plans to stage demonstrations in protest of the Chief Justice’s suspension and the reported dismissal of several public sector employees.
They argue that the government’s actions are undermining the independence of the Judiciary and eroding the foundations of one of the essential arms of government.
