The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formed a campaign team for its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, without including notable figures such as Haruna Iddrisu and Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka.
The two were previously removed from their leadership positions in Parliament and have now been excluded from the 2024 campaign team.
Stephen Atubiga, leader and founder of the National Liberation Congress (NLC), has expressed concern over the growing dissatisfaction with Mahama’s leadership, particularly among party members from the northern regions.
He has urged Mahama to take immediate action to address the issue, citing the neglect of loyal party members such as Iddrisu, Muntaka, and Ken Avoka as a strategic mistake.
Atubiga emphasized that Mahama’s failure to support and protect these members from internal party attacks and ridicule has led to a decline in support for the party in the northern regions.
He called on Mahama to reach out to disgruntled party members and work to rebuild trust and confidence in the party.
