The former Greater Accra regional chairman for the NDC, Joseph Kobina Ade-Coker, has reacted to his defeat.
Over the weekend, the opposition party held its delegate conference to elect its constituency and regional executives.
Ade-Coker lost the regional chairmanship position to a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Adentan constituency, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.
The former chairman stated in response to his defeat on Oyerepa Breakfast Time that “delegates disregarded competence and voted for certain candidates based on their own selfish gains.”
“The delegates overlooked competence and voted for candidates based on their own selfish gains.” “They did not consider policies that benefit the party, but voted based on personal interest and a possible purchase of votes,” he said.
According to Ade-Coker, he put in the needed effort to retain his seat, but it was up to the delegates to vote for him.
The act of paying delegates to vote, according to Joseph Kobina Ade-Coker, is getting out of hand and gradually impeding the smooth running of elections and the selection of competent leaders, which is very dangerous for our politics.
