Mr. Dennis Owusu Sarkodie, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST has said allowance paid to national service scheme, Teacher trainees, NABCO is not necessary.
According to him, government of Ghana should cancel those allowances.
As per him, the cash which is being squandered on National Service personnel ought to rather be utilised to create jobs in the country.
“Government should cancel national service and use that money to create jobs to permanently employ personnel.” He stated on Oyerepa Breakfast show, Tuesday.
He clarified that around 20% of public personnel effectively contribute to labour productivity growth in the country. In any case, 80% of them partake in the assistance’s recompenses with no commitment by any means. Subsequently, if the youth or service personnel are given permanent work, it will lessen joblessness in Ghana.
He further expressed that the country is squandering cash on “NABCO and teacher trainee stipends, consequently, should scrap away those monies to create jobs for the youth.
