Samia Nkrumah, former Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has affectionately referred to her late father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, as a prophet to the nation of Ghana.
In an intimate interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, Samia Nkrumah reflected on her father’s enduring legacy as the first President of the Republic. She described Dr Nkrumah as a visionary philosopher who meticulously documented his beliefs, leaving behind a treasure trove of wisdom for future generations.
According to Samia, her father’s foresight enabled him to anticipate and address potential challenges, providing a roadmap for the country’s progress.
She emphasized that his written works continue to offer valuable insights and solutions to contemporary issues, cementing his status as a prophetic figure in Ghana’s history.
“He saw well into the future. He organized, he wrote, he was a philosopher and of course, he led the country. He laid the foundation of what Ghana is today. He wrote about what he believed in which is very important for the younger generation. He also gave us guidelines as a country and ultimate solutions for Africans to unite”, she disclosed.
When asked about the debate over whether Kwame Nkrumah is the sole founder of Ghana, Samia Nkrumah responded, “I believe without a shred of doubt that Kwame Nkrumah is the founder of Ghana. But having said that, I’ve always said that it doesn’t matter if others disagree.”
