The founder and leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyeremanten, has expressed his unwavering commitment to align with Kennedy Agyapong, a potential flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party, NPP, in the upcoming 2024 election, should the circumstances necessitate such a collaboration.
Alan Kyerematen, at a press conference in Accra on Monday, September 25, 2023, announced his decision to resign from the NPP and also contest as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential elections.
Following Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the ruling party, there is a growing belief among Ghanaians that Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, may align himself with the Movement for Change in the upcoming 2024 election.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong has declared on several platforms that he will campaign for the NPP, depending on how the party conducts its November 4 election.
Speaking in an interview with Kwesi Parker-Willson on Oyerepa breakfast Time, the leader of Movement for Change, said he and Kennedy have things in common, so they can join forces.
“If I listened to Ghanaian, they were hoping it (Kennedy joining Alan) would happen. If that is the case, it will help Ghanaians. Because all that I am talking about is business, and he (Kennedy) is also talking about the same thing. So we are waiting for them to finish their November 4 election. After the election, we can dialogue to see the way forward.” He asserted.
