The Deputy Managing Director (MD) of Metro Mass Transit (MMT), Mr Richard Osei Bamfo has revealed that, his outfit will receive about 400 new buses by end of this year.
The buses according to him will facilitate the growth of MMT as well as improve upon its work.
“MMT will by the end of this year receive about 400 new buses to improve and expand its operations in the country.” The MD disclosed this on Oyerepa TV morning show dubbed; OBS’ on Monday.
The approach according to him is part of the Ghana government’s effort to improve upon public transport.
He revealed that there are only 150 buses currently in operation. Others are faulty and weak and undergoing maintenance.
As a result the new buses will minimize traveller’s burden since many buses will be in business to convey them to their respective destinations.
