George Adjei, a member of the NPP communications team, has indicated that ministers aids including the CEOs of the various state-owned enterprises, are not paid by the state but by the ministers themselves.
He made this claim in an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, while confidently adding that none of these aids are on the government payroll.
Mr. Adjei also denied claims by Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) that new people have been recruited in the name of special assistants and aids to perform tasks already taken care of by workers in the various public offices, which is causing some form of work rivalry in the public service. He added that the newly recruited workers are those who fit best in the various positions given to them.
He still insists that these appointed aids are not on the government payroll but paid by the ministers.
