The Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr. Asensu Boakye, on Wednesday, 12th June 2024, conducted an inspection tour of several crucial road projects in the Upper East Region.
The inspection covered the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Polmogu Road and the Chuchuliga-Sandema-Weisi Road, where he reassured citizens that the government is committed to ensuring the contractors complete these major road projects.
Mr. Boakye highlighted the progress on the 10km Sandema-Chuchuliga Road, which is currently approximately 68% complete.
He expressed confidence that this project, along with others, will be finished by the end of the year, significantly improving transportation and the lives of residents in the Upper East Region.
During his visit, Mr. Boakye also convened a meeting with key stakeholders, including Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and members of the regional security council.
The meeting focused on identifying and prioritizing urgent developmental issues within the region.
Stakeholders discussed the strategic importance of the road projects in enhancing economic activities, improving accessibility, and promoting regional development.
The Minister’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and its efforts to support the growth and prosperity of the Upper East Region.
