The Mankessim Traditional Council yesterday signed a peace accord in Mankessim and called on other chiefs and the people of the area to dedicate themselves to maintaining peace and unity among themselves.
They also appealed to the people to forge ahead in unity to accelerate the pace of development to ensure that the people enjoyed better standards of living.
“They were our adversaries, not our enemies,” Mankessim Omanhene, Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI stated.
The Mankessim Peace Accord brings to an end the protracted years’ of chieftaincy dispute that has caused a deep division among the chiefs and the people of the area.
The chiefs are the Mankessim Omanhene Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI and Nkyidom Division headed by Nana Kwaa Annan XI (Nkyidomhene).
Then the Nkyidomhene Kwaa Annan and Nana Baafi, Chief of Baafikrom were sworn in as members of the Mankessim Traditional Council.
