A farmer in his late 30s, Kwame Obontia has allegedly butchered a Palm Wine Tapper in his mid-50s, Tetteh Sackey, at Nsata Kofi Asare in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.
According to a report on Oyerepa FM, the suspect committed the act following a misunderstanding over mushrooms.
The report explained that the wife of the suspected criminal went to the palm wine tapper’s farm and uprooted his mushrooms.
The victim, Tetteh Sackey, subsequently approached his assailant’s residence and enquired why the woman went to his farm without any permission.
This raised a strong argument between the assailant (Kwame Obontia) and his victim.
Kwame who could not control his temper then butchered his victim (palm wine tapper Tetteh Sackey).
The victim who sustained severe injuries was then transported to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect according to the report has been arrested and detained in police custody.
