The Ghana Police Service has arrested a young man, Christopher Saigoe, for the alleged unlawful possession of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs at Nkurakan in the Eastern Region.
The arrest took place on June 17, 2025, after police intercepted a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number AS 1933-21, which the suspect was driving.
Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, officers discovered five sacks of maize. Hidden inside the sacks were 78 oval-shaped balls, wrapped in sellotape, containing a plant material believed to be Indian hemp.
Christopher Saigoe is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations. He is expected to be arraigned before the court in the coming days.
