Man allegedly arrested for impersonating Military Officer

A man has reportedly been arrested for allegedly posing as a military officer after a video of the incident surfaced on social media.

The suspect, who claimed to be a security officer attached to a task force, was allegedly found wearing the uniform of a lieutenant colonel despite not being a member of the military.

In the viral video, the man is seen being questioned by individuals believed to be personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces over his identity and the military attire he was wearing.

When asked how he came into possession of the uniform, the suspect explained that he had previously worked with a military major and obtained the outfit through that connection.

The officers also questioned why he was dressed in the uniform of a senior military officer when he was not enlisted in the armed forces.

Responding to the questions, the suspect insisted that he worked as a security officer with a task force but admitted no military affiliation. During the exchange, he appeared apologetic and expressed regret for his actions.

According to reports, personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces arrested the man after allegedly discovering him dressed in full military camouflage while falsely presenting himself as a military officer.

Initial reports indicate that he had difficulty clearly identifying himself during the interrogation and repeatedly maintained that he was a task force security officer. The circumstances surrounding the acquisition of the military uniform are expected to form part of ongoing investigations.
