A young woman by the name of Esther Wanfuru from Nsawkaw, the capital of the Tain District in the Bono Region, as has accused a local herbalist of using “juju” (traditional spiritual charms) to manipulate her into an unwanted romantic relationship.
Appearing on the popular Oyerepa Afutuo Show hosted by Auntie Naa on Wednesday, Esther bravely shared her ordeal with listeners and viewers.
According to her, the man, identified only as “Malam,” lured her into a sexual relationship using juju, despite her initial disinterest in him.
“Malam is a herbalist. I didn’t love him, but he used juju to charm me,” Esther disclosed emotionally on the show. “After the charm, I found myself constantly thinking about him. I couldn’t explain it. I ended up leaving Kumasi to be with him.”
Esther recounted that upon moving to be with Malam, the two engaged in multiple sexual encounters. However, what began under mysterious circumstances soon turned into disappointment and rejection.
According to her, after becoming pregnant, Malam denied any responsibility and began treating her with disdain.
“I got pregnant after he slept with me. I informed Malam, but he told me point blank that he’s not responsible for the pregnancy,” she stated.
