Dr Emmanuel Marfo, the Member of Parliament for the Oforikrom constituency in the Ashanti Region, has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, stating that his qualifications pale in comparison to Vice President Dr Bawumia, the hopeful presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
During an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Monday, Dr Marfo expressed his belief that Bawumia surpasses Mahama in terms of leadership potential for the upcoming 2024 general elections. He emphasized that it would be wise for the NPP to select the vice president as their leader.
Dr. Marfo highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s accomplishments as vice president and his contributions to the NPP and the Ghanaian people as reasons why he would easily defeat Mahama in the 2024 elections. While some have suggested that Kennedy Agyapong, known as the ‘Showdown’ man, should lead the NPP, Dr. Marfo firmly believes that Bawumia is the only candidate capable of leading the party to victory and breaking the eight-year cycle.
“To secure victory in the 2024 election, Dr Bawumia is our preferred choice as the alternative candidate from the NDC party [Mahama] does not meet our standards.”
