President John Dramani Mahama has ordered the immediate reversal of all land allocations and sales involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that took place under the previous Akufo-Addo administration.
The directive, issued on March 4, 2025, mandates the reclamation of the Ministry’s adjoining land at Airport Residential Area, which had reportedly been allocated to seven organizations and individuals. The land will now be preserved for state use.
Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced the development in a statement shared on his social media platforms on March 5, 2025.
He expressed appreciation to President Mahama for his decisive action and dedication to safeguarding public assets.
“I am enormously grateful to President Mahama for his unwavering patriotic and decisive presidential backing. Under my watch as Foreign Minister, no land or property of the Ministry, located either home or abroad, would be sold,” Ablakwa stated.
He further declared that the era of what he described as “State Capture” was over, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring that government properties remain in state hands.
