Some individuals participating in the current Electoral Commission’s (EC) Limited voter registration exercise in the Ga North Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have been forced to spend the night at the registration centre due to network issues.
These registrants, who have travelled long distances to the district to obtain their voter identification cards, are now resorting to sleeping on chairs at the office tonight in their determination to acquire the necessary documentation. The network has been experiencing fluctuations since the morning, leading to this drastic measure.
EC officials have acknowledged that the network problem is affecting registration centres nationwide, and they are working diligently to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.
The Electoral Commission began the limited voter registration exercise for first-time voters and persons who wish to own a voter card, today Tuesday, May 7.
The 21-day exercise will end on May 27, 2024.
