Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has filed a lawsuit against local media outlet Abrempong TV for what he describes as the unauthorised broadcast of his movie.
In a statement shared on his Instagram on September 10, 2025, LilWin, through his lawyer, accused the TV station of broadcasting his popular movie titled “A Country Called Ghana”.
According to the statement, the Kumwood actor is demanding an amount of GH¢1 million as compensation for pirating his movie.
“We have the instructions from our client to demand from you as we hereby do for the following… That you pay an amount of one million Ghana cedis (GH¢1,000,000.00) as compensation for the unauthorised use, broadcast, and infringement of our client’s copyright in the film,” the statement read.
LilWin, through his lawyer Enoch Sebastian Owusu, is also demanding that the media house cease any further broadcasts of the said movie.
“That you cease any further broadcast of the subject movie or any of our client’s productions without its consent.
“Should you fail to comply with the above request within 14 days, we will give our client’s firm instruction to institute legal proceedings against you without further recourse to you,” it added.
