Ace Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame, born Kwame Nsiah Apau, has argued that women should be afforded the same opportunities as males in society.
In an interview with Hitz FM, the rapper declared that in order to ensure equality, the world must consciously give women the same opportunities as males.
The world, according to him, used to be predominately male because men were given the responsibility for and performed all vital jobs, leaving women to watch in silence as men survived their trials.
He continued by saying that because of globalization and advancement, individuals no longer solely rely on their brains as they once did; instead, they also place a high value on their talents.
“Let’s consciously give women the same opportunity we give men. The world use to be male-dominated. Now it’s all about the brain“, he said on the show.
Even though women aren’t the primary breadwinners in the family, Okyeame Kwame counselled that the world should still pay greater attention to them. The fact that a man supports his family, he said, does not automatically grant him a greater advantage.
