Kumawood actress, film producer and entrepreneur Patricia Osei Boateng has broken her silence over the backlash and criticism she has faced in recent months, accusing some people within the entertainment industry of showing her hatred and abandoning her during a difficult period.

The actress made the comments following the burial of her husband, Eric “Duku” Osei Boateng, after some of her colleagues reportedly failed to attend the funeral, a situation she appeared to be unhappy about.

Patricia Osei Boateng, who had stayed quiet since February amid legal issues surrounding her name, said she would speak when the appropriate time came. She expressed pain over how she believes she has been treated by some people in the industry.

“I will talk when the time is due. When have you, Eshun, never taken money after promoting my movies? And you want to promote my issues? ZionFelix, when I brought my movie ‘Ghana Must Go’, you told me you would take money before promoting it. But when my issue came, you posted it whether it was true or not,” she said.

The actress added: “Look, that God who is with us has not shamed us. By now, Patricia would have been dead looking at what happened to me. But let me tell you, you have all mistreated me for a long time. You have hated me for long. I haven’t done anything to anyone in the industry, but you have made me realise that you really hate me.”

Patricia Osei Boateng was linked to investigations into the robbery and fatal shooting of Andrew Amankwa at Ohwim Tigo Junction in Kumasi in February 2026. Amankwa, who was the father-in-law of Ghana Gold Board CEO Sammy Gyamfi, died in the incident. Police investigations also connected her to her husband, Eric “Duku”, who was described by police as a suspected armed robbery gang leader.

Following police investigations, Patricia turned herself in at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters on February 27, 2026, to assist with inquiries. She was later remanded by a Kumasi High Court for further investigations. No conviction has been reported in the matter.

Speaking about the public attention surrounding her situation, Patricia said she has endured pain quietly and pleaded with people to allow her late husband to rest.

“I love Antwi. I love him because he is a real man. The disgrace is too much. I have kids, and the embarrassment is too much. I haven’t spoken since February. The hate is too much. You think people have not hurt me before? Do I come and rant about them on social media? It’s all part of life,” she added.

She concluded: “If this issue had not come, I wouldn’t have known you hate me like that. Be careful of human beings. Fear human beings. Let my husband sleep in peace, and let my name also sleep.”

Patricia’s comments have since generated discussions among fans and industry observers, with many debating the challenges celebrities face when their personal struggles become public.
