Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has urged leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to pay greater attention to the growing use of insults and hate speech on social media.

According to him, the continued attacks on President John Dramani Mahama by some social media users could gradually affect public perception of his administration if the trend is not addressed.

Speaking on U TV in a discussion shared online on September 27, 2026, Prophet Kumchacha said he was disappointed that some NDC leaders had remained silent while what he described as coordinated attacks against the President continued online.

“I am very disappointed in most of the leaders of the NDC. My reason for saying this is because if you go on social media, it’s like some people have been contracted to insult President John Dramani Mahama,” he said.

He questioned why NDC communicators and party leaders had seemingly reduced their response to the attacks, arguing that the issue required greater attention.

“I don’t know if the leaders of the NDC are stingy or something, because it seems the people who speak on the radio or TV have toned down and are watching this disgusting thing happen,” he added.

Prophet Kumchacha further argued that persistent negative commentary could be used by political opponents to undermine the image of the Mahama administration.

“They are making President Mahama’s administration unpopular with the insults. I still don’t understand why they will just keep quiet. They will stay mute unless the NPP overthrows them with this hate speech,” he stated.

His comments come amid wider national discussions about insults, abusive language and hate speech on social media, with calls for stakeholders to find ways of addressing harmful online content while preserving legitimate political criticism and freedom of expression.
