An articulator has killed two traders and several injured at Dr Mensah in the Kumasi Metropolis of Ashanti Region.
Reports say the truck with a registration number AS- 4403-12 ploughed into traders on Sunday, 27 February, 2022.
The truck loaded with groundnut and bags of rice from the Northern part of the country to Kumasi-Alabar, was reported to have developed a fault in the brake and ploughed into some traders, passengers, and pedestrians in the Central Business District (CBD).
An eyewitness suggest people were running for their lives at the time of the incident.
“I even thought it was a drivers’ mate who had died. Because it was a mate who was able to jump out of the vehicle. What I saw was people were running for their lives,” a driver narrated.
Personnel from Manhyia Police Command conveyed the bodies of the traders to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.
The injured were also rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
