The Department of Planning at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) recently commemorated the 63rd Anniversary of the Ghana Student Planners Association (GASP) week by recognizing the invaluable contributions of journalists to development.
Ms. Paulina Akua Asieduwaa of Oyerepa, who is an alumna of the department, was awarded for her contributions to developmental journalism.
She currently serves as a newscaster and co-host of Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Oyerepa TV, a subsidiary of Promise Broadcasting Limited in Kumasi.
Her talk shows have consistently shed light on pressing local issues, fostering public awareness and policy discussions.
Ms Asieduwaa has been in the media fraternity for over two decades.
Other journalists who were awarded include Ms. Mona Lisa Frimpong, a journalist with Joy News, and Ibrahim Abubakr of Media General in the Ashanti Region, who received the distinguished overall honors.
