The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) campus was on the scene of violent skirmishes on Thursday night.
Police have given warning that those responsible will be apprehended and forced to “face justice.”
The attacks were described by the police as “unfortunate, unnecessary, and unjustifiable,” and they claimed their investigations had started.
Conflicts broke out between residents of Unity Hall, also known as Continental or Conti, and University Hall, also known as Katanga.
The situation was immediately stabilized by the arrival of the police.
According to a statement released on Friday, August 19, “the police have calmed down the situation on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus following violent skirmishes between students of the Katanga and Unity Halls of the University.”

“The Police are firmly in control of the situation, and an investigation is proceeding to identify and apprehend those responsible for the distressing, unnecessary, and unjustified attacks.
“Therefore, we urge all law-abiding university community members to maintain their composure and assist the police as we handle the issue,” the statement reads.
