The management of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has decided to set up a committee to look into an attack by a city guard on a trader.
On Wednesday, September 14, oyerepafmonline.com reported the assault on a trader by the KMA for her quest to prevent the city guard from seizing her goods, which she had displayed for sale on the roadside.

“We sell on the pavement. The KMA city guard was about to seize my things. When I refused to give them to him, he started beating me. He has destroyed all my things. What pains me is that I was not the only one selling on the pavement. Achiaa lamented in tears.
The victim has confirmed to oyerepafmonline.com that the assembly funded her medical bills.
In a statement on Friday, September 16, KMA condemned the act.
“Management condemns that act and dissociates itself from such unwarranted behaviour,” the statement signed by the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Kwadwo Akuamoah Boateng, said.
“Meanwhile, management has taken a decision to set up a committee to look into the matter to enable us to apply the appropriate sanctions”.
“It is earnest to note that the Assembly do not support such conduct or behaviours since staff of the KMA are guided by the code of conduct of the service.”
