The Leader of the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly known as Gyataba, has launched a scathing attack on the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, accusing him of hypocrisy and political bias.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Gyataba expressed outrage over the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) decision to declare former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive and wanted. He claimed that Kissi Agyebeng’s actions have brought disgrace to the entire Ofori-Atta family.
“If we are talking about the highest level of hypocrisy, it’s Kissi Agyebeng. He’s one of the biggest hypocrites I’ve ever seen in this country. Why didn’t he act during the NPP administration rather than today, under the NDC government? Is he working to please John Dramani Mahama?” he questioned.
Gyataba argued that appointments to key institutions like the OSP should not be politically motivated, insisting that Agyebeng’s recent actions suggest he is attempting to gain favour with the current administration.
“I’m not saying Ken Ofori-Atta is a saint, but the issue is, why didn’t the OSP prosecute him when the NPP was in government? The Special Prosecutor wants President Mahama to retain him, so he is working to please him,” Gyataba alleged.
His comments come amid growing controversy over the OSP’s handling of high-profile corruption cases, with critics questioning whether the institution is acting independently or being influenced by political interests.
