The Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Stephen Amoah, also known as ‘Sticka,’ has confidently expressed his belief in retaining his seat in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.
Former MP for the Nhyiaeso constituency, Kennedy Kankam, along with another candidate within the NPP, are challenging Sticka for the seat. Many people speculate that the former, who currently serves as the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of Asokore Mampong, has a good chance of unseating the incumbent in the NPP primaries on 27th January 2024.
However, Dr. Stephen Amoah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Time that none of the candidates, specifically Kennedy Kankam, can unseat him.
“Kennedy Kankam can’t unseat me, unless God doesn’t want me to win.” He confidently said.
Sticka revealed that his primary rival, Kankam, has failed to contribute significantly to the NPP in the Nhyiaeso constituency. It is worth noting that Kankam even neglects attending funerals, so there is no way such a candidate can unseat him.
“For about 3 years now, he (Kankam) has never stepped in Nhyiaeso. He has not helped the party with even a ‘kobo’ (penny). He doesn’t even attend party funerals so I don’t know how he is going to defeat me. I’m not afraid of him because he can’t defeat me.”
“NPP is my blood…I’m very passionate, I’m committed to anything I want to do for my country and my people.” He added.
