A member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has described the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful as the most popular and electable figure in Ghana’s political landscape, citing his broad appeal across party lines.

Speaking on Joy FM’s AM Show, Nyantakyi argued that Agyapong’s support goes beyond the NPP, attracting admiration from members of other political parties.

“Kennedy Agyapong is one politician in Ghana whose popularity knows no bounds. There are people in other political parties, including the NDC, CPP and others, who admire and support him. Some are even calling on the NPP to present him as its candidate so they can vote for him,” he said.

Nyantakyi pointed to everyday public spaces as evidence of this widespread support.

“If you go to the markets, churches and lorry stations, everybody is talking about Kennedy Agyapong,” he noted, adding that the aspirant “appears to be the frontrunner in this contest.”

He expressed confidence ahead of the party’s internal elections, saying he believes delegates will rally behind Agyapong.

“I am very hopeful that on Saturday, the delegates of the NPP will elect him as the flagbearer so that he can lead the party into the 2028 election and emerge victorious,” Nyantakyi stated.
