A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwasi Kwarteng ESQ, has thrown his full support behind Kennedy Agyapong as the ideal candidate to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time today, Mr. Kwarteng expressed confidence that the Assin Central Member of Parliament possesses the charisma, track record, and grassroots appeal necessary to secure victory for the NPP after the 2024 polls.
“As an NPP member, I am convinced that Kennedy Agyapong is the right person to lead our party to victory in 2028,” Kwarteng stated. “His dedication, fearlessness, and commitment to truth are unmatched, and Ghanaians resonate with his straightforward leadership style.”
Kwarteng highlighted Kennedy Agyapong’s longstanding service to the party, his entrepreneurial success, and his unfiltered approach to national issues as major assets that would give the NPP a competitive edge in the next election cycle.
Kennedy Agyapong, who contested in the party’s 2024 flagbearer race but lost to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has maintained a strong presence in Ghana’s political landscape, often regarded as a maverick voice within the NPP.
He has made his stance clear to contest for the NPP flagbearership in 2027.
