An anti-corruption organization, Crusaders Against Corruption has hauled the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong before the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
In a petition dated 23rd February 2022, the Organization is asking the Special Prosecutor to investigate Kennedy Agyapong for publications made on Asaase Radio on the 22nd February 2022.
Among the publication include the allegations that the Assin Central MP took a sum of GH¢120,000 from the Chief of Staff to be given to Dome-Kwabenya’s MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Mr. Agyapong further alleged that a private jet was also hired for Adwoa Safo just for her to come into Ghana from the USA to enable her to join her NPP colleagues in Parliament for E-levy decisions.
The organization has therefore requested a thorough investigation by “Mr. Special Prosecutor, in line with the aforementioned, Crusaders Against Corruption Ghana (CACG) is officially petitioning your office to as a matter of urgency, public interest and for protecting the public purse,” the Chief Crusader, Emmanuel Wilson Jnr requested.
