Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has officially picked up nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming 2026 presidential primaries.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, August 5, through a Facebook post by Kwasi Kwarteng, spokesperson for Mr. Agyapong’s campaign team.
“Official Update: Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong has officially picked nomination forms to contest in the 2026 NPP Flagbearership race,” the post stated.
This move confirms Mr. Agyapong’s renewed bid to lead the party, following his strong performance in the NPP’s previous flagbearer contest. His decision is expected to energize supporters and shape the internal dynamics of the party ahead of the primaries.
Mr. Agyapong, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and a well-known businessman, has long expressed interest in leading the NPP and eventually contesting for the presidency.
