The suspects have been identified as Patrick Haziel, a driver, and Mohammed Sulemana.

They were arrested after police officers on a night patrol intercepted a KIA Mighty truck at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

The truck, with registration number GN 5255-23, was reportedly loaded with several household items suspected to have been stolen from a building at Chocho.

The recovered items include a king-size mattress, kitchen cabinet, deep freezer, refrigerators, microwave oven, stove, framed aluminium-glazed windows, electrical sockets, a knapsack spraying machine, TV sockets and floodlights.

Speaking to the media, Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Francis Nchor, said preliminary investigations had established that the items were allegedly stolen from the building.

According to the police, Mohammed Sulemana attempted to flee after allegedly spotting the approaching patrol team but was later apprehended.

One victim has so far identified some of the recovered items.

The police are therefore appealing to individuals who may have recently lost household property under similar circumstances to report to the Central East Regional Police Command for identification and possible collection.

Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
