The Member of Parliament for Adansi Akrofrom, Joseph Azumah, has sharply criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he describes as premature and hypocritical attacks on President John Dramani Mahama’s 120-day performance.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time with Kwesi Parker-Wilson, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP responded to recent comments from NPP’s Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and others, who described Mahama’s early days in office as a failure marked by persistent power cuts and growing economic hardship.
“Just 120 days and they’re moaning? Ghanaians gave you [NPP] 8 solid years, but you performed abysmally,” Azumah retorted.”
The NPP held a press conference yesterday where they issued a damning verdict on President Mahama’s 120-day social contract, claiming his administration had failed to provide immediate solutions to challenges such as dumsor, inflation, and cost of living increases.
But Azumah dismissed those claims, saying the current government is already showing clear signs of improvement, with fewer ministers and more results.
“In our 120 days, we’ve used less than 60 ministers to outperform the over 120 ministers of the NPP under Akufo-Addo. President Mahama’s ministers are performing and producing results,” he argued.
